About Me

Education & Training

I am a licensed acupuncturist and a national Diplomat of Oriental Medicine. I studied at Wellesley College, then pursued a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the New England School of Acupuncture at MCPHS University in Massachusetts. I am trained in both Chinese and Japanese style acupuncture, orthopedic acupuncture, and Chinese herbal medicine. During my graduate program, I assisted with and interned for 16 practitioners at 7 clinics across the state of Massachusetts, including the Edith Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA, where I treated veterans with PTSD and chronic pain.

Prior to studying Traditional East Asian Medicine, I received my 200-hour yoga teaching certification at the Kripalu School of Yoga and Ayurveda. I am a Level II Reiki practitioner trained by Master Debra Basili, a Biofield Tuning practitioner trained by Eileen McKusick, and a student of Dr. Ben Benjamin in orthopedic bodywork and conditioning.

Background

I encountered several periods of “dis-ease” throughout my life and often had little relief or resolve with western medical interventions. Knowing there must be a better way, I was introduced to the power of the mind-body connection through an 8-week, evidence-based meditation course in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, designed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, that sent me on a journey of healing and self-discovery. After years of exploration through different esoteric and medical practices, I was called to offer ancient traditional medicine to others as a doorway through suffering and a return to wholeness.
